Supporting Cambodian Artisans
& Fair Trade Partnerships
Very Berry is dedicated to uplifting Cambodia’s artisan community by partnering with skilled craftspeople, independent makers, and NGOs that promote traditional handicrafts. We carefully select high-quality handmade products that reflect Cambodia’s artistic heritage, ensuring that artisans receive fair prices for their work. By fostering long-term relationships, we help sustain local craftsmanship and bring authentic, meaningful souvenirs to visitors from around the world.
Sustainable & Eco-Friendly Craftsmanship
We believe that beautiful craftsmanship should be in harmony with the environment. Our collection features handmade products crafted from sustainable and responsibly sourced materials, including water hyacinth, rattan, organic cotton, and upcycled fabrics. By prioritizing eco-conscious production, we support artisans who embrace sustainable practices and help reduce environmental impact.
Preserving Cambodia’s Cultural Heritage
Each item in our shop carries the story of Cambodia’s rich artistic traditions. From intricately woven textiles to brass jewelry and hand-thrown ceramics, our selection showcases time-honored techniques passed down through generations. By working with artisans who continue these craft traditions, we help ensure that Cambodia’s cultural heritage remains vibrant and valued in the modern world.
Fostering Responsible Craft Traditions
Very Berry serves as a bridge between Cambodia’s artisans and those who appreciate authentic, handmade creations. By working closely with local makers, we help preserve traditional skills and create sustainable opportunities that allow craftsmanship to flourish. Our mission is to uplift the handmade industry in Cambodia by promoting quality, authenticity, and the timeless value of artisan work.
In 2001, Kiko, the founder of Very Berry, first journeyed from Japan to Cambodia, where she was deeply moved by the warmth and richness of the local culture. Her connection with the people inspired her to make a lasting impact. By 2005, Kiko had relocated to Cambodia and established Very Berry with a mission to create opportunities for artisans. Recognizing the challenges faced by craft makers due to urban migration and economic shifts, she launched the Pavanasara brand. This initiative is dedicated to providing stable and ethical employment for village women, ensuring their traditional crafts thrive in a sustainable way.
